Attock Petroleum Limited (APL), What to Expect from Their Upcoming Results

Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) is getting ready to announce its financial results for the fourth quarter of FY25 on August 11, 2025. Here’s a simple breakdown of what’s expected.

Quarterly performance (4QFY25)

  • Earnings per share (EPS): PKR 19
  • Profit after tax: ~PKR 2.4 billion
  • This means profits are up about 9% compared to the same period last year, but down 7% from the last quarter.
  • Sales: Around PKR 120.9 billion, down 7% from last year, but up 5% from the previous quarter.
  • This sales growth compared to last quarter is thanks to 17% higher fuel volumes, although volumes are still down 8% from last year.
  • Gross profit margins: Stable at about 3%, showing the company has maintained profitability despite volume changes.
  • Other income: Expected to drop significantly from last year, mainly because of lower dividend earnings and smaller gains from mutual fund investments.
  • Net finance income: Down 22% YoY due to slightly lower returns on deposits and investments, as well as higher long-term liabilities.
  • Expenses: Operating costs are down 29% YoY, and taxes are down 17% YoY, helping support the bottom line.

Full-year performance (FY25)

  • EPS: PKR 81
  • Profit after tax: ~PKR 10 billion, down 27% from last year.
  • Sales: PKR 467.6 billion, down 11% YoY.
  • Gross profit: Down 23% YoY.
  • Both other income (-45% YoY) and net finance income (-23% YoY) took a hit, affecting the overall yearly performance.

Dividend

APL is expected to announce a final cash dividend of PKR 20 per share for FY25.

What this means

APL’s quarterly profits are showing resilience with a modest YoY increase, but the full-year picture reflects industry challenges like lower sales volumes and reduced investment income. The dividend shows the company is still committed to rewarding shareholders, even in a tough year.

If fuel volumes continue to recover and investment returns improve, APL could see stronger performance ahead.
