LUCK’s Q4FY25 profit are expected to fall, is it a temporary setback or long-term concern?

Lucky Cement (LUCK) is expected to report a dip in its earnings for the fourth quarter of FY25. The company is likely to post net profits of Rs6.6 billion with an earnings per share (EPS) of Rs4.3, which is 33% lower than the same period last year.

So, what caused this drop?

The main reason is the absence of dividend income during the quarter, a one-time factor that had boosted profits in the past. Without it, the overall earnings look weaker.

Even when we compare it with the previous quarter, profits are expected to fall by 53%, mainly due to the same reason.

Despite the earnings decline, the company is still expected to announce a cash dividend of Rs17 per share, which is a strong signal for investors who rely on dividends for steady income.

What should investors know?

  • The earnings dip isn’t from weaker business operations, it’s due to no dividend income this time.
  • Lucky Cement still shows financial strength through its expected Rs17 dividend payout.
  • Long-term investors may view this as a temporary earnings dip, not a structural issue.

Bottom line:

While profits are down this quarter, Lucky Cement remains a strong player in the cement sector and continues to deliver value through dividends.
